Any issues you may have with your vehicle’s tires can be addressed here at Tire Factory. We will perform any routine maintenance you may need or help you find new tires for your vehicle. Below are a few suggestions on how to detect whether it is time for scheduled maintenance with Tire Factory:
Tire Rotation
Why do I need my tires rotated?
The objective for regular tire rotation is to maximize tire life by creating a more standardized wear for all the tires on your vehicle. Misalignment can cause improper wear on your tires and may need a diagnosis of the best rotation pattern. Bring your vehicle to us and we will resolve the irregular wear problem for you.
How often should I have my tires rotated?
Check your owner’s manual for the suggested mileage between every tire rotation. As a rule of thumb, have them rotated at least every 6,000 miles. If there is irregular wear then rotation should be performed sooner. At Tire Factory we will be able to correctly rotate your tires for you to maximize the performance from your tires against tire wear.

Tire Wear Problems
Some terms you may hear in reference to tire wear problems:
Shoulder Wear
Yet another reason that correct tire inflation is so important. Shoulder wear is when the outside areas of the tire tread are supporting most of the weight due to under-inflation of the tires. Do you ever see those bits of shredded rubber on the side of the highway and try to speculate what possibly could have happened? Shoulder wear is the main cause for these bits of rubber shrapnel.
Cupping
This is when the tire is receiving unbalanced wear because it is not riding proportionately down the highway. Cupping can be due to worn out shocks, bearings, and other suspension components, or many other factors. The tire could simply have loose wheel bearings. This problem can be quickly inspected by our Tire Factory technicians and corrected so that you will no longer have unacceptable tire wear.
Center Tread Wear
When the center of the tire is wearing faster than the outer edges it is due to over-inflation of the tire. Many times drivers intentionally over-inflate their tires because of a slow leak. Bring your vehicle into us and get the leak fixed and tires filled with the proper pressure to avoid this uneven tire wear.
Heel and Toe Wear
This is when the back end of the tire tread is dragging on the road and causing the lugs in the tread to wear unevenly. This may be caused because the vehicle’s springs supporting the vehicle’s frame have begun to wear out which causes the frame to travel closer to the road. The springs must be replaced in this situation to replace the frame back to its proper height.
Diagonal Wear
Diagonal Wear occurs when the direction the tires are facing is not perfectly lined up with the direction of the vehicle. This can happen when you hit a pothole or any other thing that may cause misalignment. Because the tires on your car are not designed to perform at this direction, it may cause a decrease in tire traction and reliability. The steering can be affected and produce other forms of tire wear during steering compensation. Our Tire Factory shop will correctly align the tires for you and help educate you to avoid future tire wear problems.
Make sure to regularly check your tire pressure and adjust it to the optimum tire pressure level for best performance or simply stop by and one of our Tire Factory technicians will check and adjust it for you at no charge. Also, remember to have us rotate your tires every 6,000 to 7,000 miles.
